Full mouth. Severed ties.
Empty stomach. Hungry eyes.
I need something more damaging.
Ive spent twenty some years, digesting rotten nails;
saved for reinforcing my body and building a better shell.
I tried my best to keep everything at a distance.
But I don't think it would make a difference.
This was all built to fail with the slightest wear.
I’ll spit what I can’t take back, until I’ve blackened all the canvas.
Death spoke, and she rambles on, making all my speaking useless.
But in the silence:
I found myself falling for her and I fell so far down that
it led me to one more hole in the ground,
one blank shot into the open casket.
Black coats in row and we are the crowd.
But I need something more.
If this is temporary or at best, how it seems,
I will tear through my past dividing truth from necessity.
If extra dirt to fling, is theatric apathy,
a cedar wood box isn't deep enough at six feet.
Were you awake to hear that war is an artistry?
Paint me a picture so I can bleed like the tapestry.
You call it bravery, and I call it kerosene.
I’m only reactive to what shakes me violently.
Because I seem to be the only one who searches for any fear
besides an early death…
I've loved more than I've lived.
I've died more than I've loved.
